STRYKE Wynds 2 Inaugural Director

We’re thrilled to introduce STRYKE Wynds 2 Director: Shamar Drumond

Born and raised in Broward County, Florida, Drumond is a graduate from Charles W. Flanagan High School as well as the University of Miami.

During his school years, he was a part of Flanagan Winds, which was under the direction of Robert Rivero. In 2016 and 2017, Flanagan Winds went on to earn silver medals in the Scholastic Open Class.

Shamar received his collegiate degree from the University of Miami Frost School of Music where he earned a Bachelor of Music in Professional Studies with a Minor in Education.

Mr. Drumond is currently the Director of Bands at J.P. Taravella High School where he oversees the Marching Band, Concert Bands, and Jazz Band.

Shamar is also a proud member of FMEA, FBA, and NAFME.

We're very honored for the opportunity to work with Shamar, and to have him as our inaugural STRYKE Wynds 2 Director!

Introducing the newest STRYKE Ensemble, STRYKE Wynds 2 !!!

SWY2 will be competing in Independent Open Class, we are continuing to cultivate and elevate the South Florida community through this new winds ensemble!

STRYKE Wynds 2 will be using the same design team, and a majority of the same staff as our World Class ensemble, maintaining our high-level education and standards! More staff updates will be announced shortly, but for now, click here to register for Oct. 26th as a continued open audition to help us properly place each auditionee.
